August 23th 2003 8.30 AM. Poor Man Friend and full crew (light, stage technicians, Horn section) gathered at a parking place next to highway A4 at Leiden (NL). This time some extra friends traveled with us in the Bus to support the crew and band, by sharing the costs for this Busride to HAMM. The day started early with an Irie busdriver and a filled bus. Let's get back to the soundcheck in Hamm, when big dark clouds took a hold right above the open Airstage to deliver us a huge river of water. This was the first rain we saw in months so it was actually a kind of a refreshing experience. 2003 brought us the hottest & most dry summer in NL for over almost a century so that's why. The only threat was that the heavy rain caused some stage equipment to become soaking wet. Luckily the technicians lined up fast as a strong rescue team. So no problems further as the PMF Soundcheck made the sky clear up immediately to make way for some heavy Sunshine and pure Rastaman Reggae vibes of Bushman, Pato Banton and his Reggae Revolution followed by Lucky Dube. 17.00 pm PMF opened the show. Jah Prince had taken his Bible beforehand to read a chapter, probably asking the Almighty for his support on this great stage. We think we did a great job for his first performance as many people gave him very nice compliments afterwards. At 1800 pm the band played the final track. A brand new one called "Come together". To be released on the 2nd album. This song re-calls upon all people on this world to realize and overstand that each person is part of this thing we call oneness. Whether you're a Jew a Monk, Palestinian or even a Taliban, we should live with each other and first start to Come together. This track can be heard at the end in the VIDEO file which you can download above. It gives you a very nice impression of the PMF vibes on stage, frontstage, as well as backstage where we set together with Pato Banton and his Revolution band joining Reggae vibes 'pon top! Right after our one hour show we enjoyed some Ital cooked food and met Bushman and his Crew. Don't know If mr Castro is gonna read this page someday or somehow but I 'd like to say thanks for sharing your good vibes and Irie mood with us. You definitly impressed our women mr. Jewmaican Rasta from Kingston! So Big up every time! Then it was time to shake hands with the lyrical Medicine man himself aka Bushman.

Bushman can be described in two words. That young man is a wonderfull inspiration. It's so nice to see a small line up (Grass Roots band) playing that perfect laid back Roots Reggae on such a voice. Poor Man Friend is constantly looking all over the scene to find such talent willing to work in combination with MC's like Jah Prince or Papeman. We are convinced that one day we'll meet that Reggae talent waiting to bring up that rootical power in our shows like DC did on the Debut Album. Roots music is the strongest fundamental drive inside Poor Man Friend as we are almost born with it. The current MC's causes Poor Man Friend to be on it's best when playing the old Roots Radics kinda DJ sessions style. You will definitely hear this on the 2nd upcoming album. The Bushman pictures on this page will probably speak for themselves.

Mr Castro Pink also known as R. Zee Jackson gave us the promotion CD of Bushman and crew called "Kings of Kings family tour. Unfortunate the live registration of Bushman's concert on this DVD is quite poor considering the sound quality, but the backstage video shots of Bushman as well as the other artists promotion videoclips are breathtaking. So who is gonna bring these artists to Europe? Poor Man Friend? ..My favorite one on this DVD is this Singjay called QSHAN DIA. Will he be the third Luciano voice-a-like that will hit the Reggae charts? Well Mr Qshan just let us shake hands some day.
